Hello world!

28 10 2007

A few weeks ago I did something very silly.  I signed up to the Nanowrimo, where writers,  wannabe and other wise, attempt to write a 50,000 word novel, from scratch, in the 30 days of November.

Normally during the month of November I am busy baking for Christmas, crocheting and knitting presents, cross stitching cards, and generally having a nervous breakdown.  So this year I decided to have my breakdown over something completely non-Christmas related!

The next thing I decided to do was set up a blog so my friends, and anyone else that might be vaguely interested in my progress could check up on me.  Now that proved to be a little more complicated than I had first thought.  I searched the web, and although many sites offer the blog option, most of them require readers to sign up to read, which is not what my friends need.

I found one, that sounded ideal in the blurb, until I tried to set up the blog.  It was so full of techno babble I was blinded by codes and left feeling very stupid in deed.

Eventually my good friend Angela, (Hiya!) directed me here, and I think I may be home!

Easy to set up, etc.  and even easier to get the page to look like me!

So this is the test run, to see if this passes the litmus test of friends trying to get to see it!

And if this doesn’t work, I fear I am going to have to give up on the idea of a blog, as the writing starts in earnest on the 1st, and with only 3 days left before kick off, so to speak, I really should be plotting my chapters, developing my characters, or doing something ‘author like’ I’m sure!

Thank you everyone!
Thank you Angela, I couldn’t have done this without you!
Hi Wenie, as this is my first ever blog, I can’t guarantee it will be insightful or riveting, but I hope you enjoy it. :-)
Hi Pam welcome to the mad world of an inexperienced writer!
Thank you Linda, the credit is all Angela’s believe me. :-) Ps, you EVER call me Susie again, I’ll slap you silly! lol (That’s what my Auntie Valerie used to call me ALL the time!)

I’m looking forward to reading your blog and seeing how you are doing with your writing. I think you’re very brave to be doing something like this so near to Christmas and wish you much luck and excellent spelling.

Off to a great start! Shake off all your hesitations and ‘what-ifs,’ you CAN do it!

Day by day, page by page. May your Muse sit on your shoulder and whisper in your ear through this November’s endeavors.
